Sunrise

Scheuten has invested in a new solar energy process, resulting in a pilot factory - the Sunrise-project – for the manufacturing of revolutionary thin film solar cells. Core of the innovation is the deposition of a thin film photovoltaic material on tiny glass beads. The new solar cell does not use silicon. The major advantages of this system are: its use on large surface areas, flexible dimensions and general synergy with existing wafer technology. This revolutionary invention enables thin film solar cells to be mass-produced.
