The ‘second Town Hall’ in The Hague, the municipality offices on the Leyweg, was designed by Architect Rudy Uytenhaak. The building is a signal for the surroundings and a catalyst for the modernisation of the urban district. There is a blend of civil service provision, a library and homes around the office building. Inventive use of both new and 'proven’ building techniques generated a result with a highly expressive form, which is spatially surprising, flexible, functional and durable.
