The Outerring is a megaproject which results in less (freight) traffic in the residential areas in the south of Limburg (Parkstad region), better accessibility of the industry parks and tourist attractions, and a better connection to the city of Aachen. The expected economic development can also be accelerated. In addition to the adaptation/construction of 14 km existing and 12 km of new roads, 21 km of Scheuten glass noise barriers are placed from laminated tempered traffic noise sound control glass.
